Movies where alien pretends to be a human

REQUESTING

Ideally movies where an alien pretends to be a husband or wife. But generally speaking I am looking for any movies where alien pretends to be a human but some people begin to notice strange behavior and uncanny valley feelings when being near it. TV shows are fine too.

Under the Skin (Glazer, 2013)

They Live (Carpenter, 1988)

Invasion of the Body Snatchers (Kaufman, 1978)

They Live is a must watch. Not saying it's a great movie or anything, but just a must watch. So many good one liners.

I came to kick ass and chew bubble gum.

I’ll say it’s a great movie. It may not be highbrow cinema, but it’s well-paced, visually interesting, well written and has a not-idiotic subtext. And casting Roddy Piper as the lead was a fantastic decision.

I adore The Live

Men in Black (1997)

Edgar is grotesquely hilarious.

u/L2J1986 avatar

When he pulls back his face 🤣🤣🤣🤣 IS THAT BETTER?!

u/lemonylol avatar

The effects in that movie have aged astonishingly well.

More replies

The whole movie is fantastic and only gets better the more you watch it.

u/lemonylol avatar

I honestly like all of them. There's a drop in quality and a weird tone change in 2, but it's still super rewatchable. And I actually really like 3 as a comfort movie for some reason, maybe because Josh Brolin does a really good job at revitalizing it.

I would love to see them do a fourth movie as a prequel, something like Men in Black 1961 when they first come into contact with aliens. The plot basically writes itself, it'd just be the initial founding of the organization with K getting recruited, the initial alien migrants blending into society, and then a hostile alien and the Men in Black's first real test.

edit: Oh holy shit, I just remembered there actually was a fourth movie as a spin-off sequel. I remember watching the whole thing but I have no idea what happens, it was just boring.

The Thing

Such a good movie

u/PuppetryOfThePenis avatar

How sure are we that was an alien, and not an Earthly monster?

u/skeltz7 avatar

It landed in some sort of spacecraft I believe

Yeah you can see it crash at the very start of the movie before the title card. When I first watched the movie I thought the thing may have killed whatever piloted that space craft. But considering that the thing builds a second smaller craft I’m guessing that wasn’t the case

more reply More replies

There are a lot of theories that flying saucer "spacecrafts" actually travel into the earth and / or below the sea.

3rd Rock From The Sun is totally under rated!!! It’s a tv show but it’s goofy! It’s about an entire family that comes to earth and has to pretend to be humans!

Better than that- Watch the TV Show 3rd Rock From The Sun.

If we're going TV, Resident Alien is fantastic as well!

The Neighbors is an underrated show too

If you have a weird sense of humour I would highly recommend "Top of the Food Chain" from 1999. It's along the same lines as "The Dead Don't Die" as far as weird humour goes. I think they're both hilarious.
